When visiting Moung Makiling during the MIM 2017 week, kindly take note of the following:

Hiking alone is discouraged. It is safer to travel in a group
A minimum set of camping gear is needed to be allowed to camp. See here for more details.
Disposing garbage inside MMFR is not allowed. Bring your trash in garbage depots at Station 1.

Mount Makiling, the 33rd ASEAN Heritage Park, is home to at least 2,038 different species of flowering plants. Endemic species not found anywhere else in the world thrived due to favorable soil and climate of Mount Makiling.
Exclusive jurisdiction and administration by the University of the Philippines Los Baños make Mount Makiling unique. Republic Act 6967 make MMFR-AHP a training laboratory for instruction, research, and extension.
As a tourist destination, MMFR attract thousands of visitors during the Lenten Season. Make it Makiling! serves as a strategic project for managing visitors' impact to MMFR's ecology while enhancing visitors' awareness on the importance of conserving MMFR.
During the Lenten Season, MCME promotes the use of Mariang Makiling Trail accessed thru UPLB Campus in Los Baños and EcoPark at Sto Tomas, Batangas. Visitors are discouraged to use other entry points.
Hiking groups or buddies are allowed to enter at any time from 9 - 16 April 2017 as there will be volunteer goups conduct visitor management activities aimed at enhancing visitor safety and experience round-the-clock.
